Just in Time for Mother's Day

Well, those flowers I did last weekend have blossomed on these cards.

And I also found a couple of Pergamano parchment pieces that I hadn't yet used.  I thought to continue with the flower theme for Mom was just perfect.

And I saw a great line on the web that I turned into a card - Mom is Wow upside-down.  The card practically created itself.

To all you awesome Moms out there - I celebrate you!  Your job is mostly thankless and yet you have created the next generation.  So, thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

So far, we haven't had many showers, but the flowers are blooming at Paper Capers.  I've been studying making ribbon flowers.

I've learned an absolutely fascinating thing - most ribbons are made of polyester and when heated, it will bond!  There's a whole world of flower-making called Kanzashi - hope you'll go see for yourself how beautiful these flowers can be.

So naturally, since I planned on making flowers today, I had to go shopping!

Turns out organza ribbon is also made from polyester - makes a nice light flower.

Bought some embellishments today to go in the centers.

Not sure what I'll do with these!  Kind of odd looking, but I bet I make something out of them!

Playing with Prima Chalk Inks

Recently, I was lucky enough to win a huge set of Prima Chalk Ink Edgers.

They are wonderful.  I have a couple of others from another company and they are terrible in comparison.  I've been working with the inkers and looking online for ideas and here's a few things I've created:
I simply edged the sentiment card to make it stand out.

This one has the inking on the edges of the tissue paper flower.

For a little interest, I dragged the inker across the sentiment card while blocking the sentiment itself.

Here I cut some flower shapes on my Pazzles Inspiration and colored the whole shape with the inkers, then shaded and edged the flowers with red.

This card originally had rainboots and a puddle, but while looking for cards to ink, I thought up a new design.  I had seen clouds done like this online and had to try it.

And finally, my favorite!  Using a Pazzles Library file for the rose, I cut out the background as well as all the pieces of the rose.  Then I went to town with the inkers.  There are 3 colors for each rose petal and well as the leaves.  And I didn't have a matching ribbon, so I inked one!  It turned out wonderful and I'm very happy with the result.  I'll be looking for more cards to ink!

Sorry for the Delay!

My wonderful Pazzles Inspiration is on the fritz!!!  I'm taking tomorrow off to talk with Customer Support and get it fixed.  Then it will be back to card making!  Sorry for the delay.
